Affidian Credit Union Branch Manager

We are an established, strong organization, looking for someone who enjoys helping others and building relationships. If you have the experience, qualifications, and passion - Affidian is looking for you to join our team!

We offer a comprehensive health insurance package, competitive salary, generous PTO plan, paid holidays, and eligibility for participation in a 401 K retirement program. The salary range is from $65,325 to $97,988 and does commensurate with experience. The Credit Union promotes from within, and encourages opportunities for growth and advancement.

This position is located at 992 Potomac Circle, Aurora, CO 80011. This is a full-time, in-office, position. Working hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Position Description:

Manage and maintain a healthy branch office through positive and timely interaction with staff and members. Responsible for the operations of Tellers, Universal Associates, Member Service Representatives, Consumer and Senior Lenders and others as assigned. Must be able to create a positive and motivating atmosphere through strong leadership abilities that will develop and train staff and increase growth for the Credit Union.

Duties and Responsibilities: MANAGING:
  • Manages the opening and closing duties of the branch.
  • Coordinates the activities of all employees by assigning work, answering questions, solving problems, helping with complex transactions and member relations problems, including training and explaining policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all employees are following Gold Standard Member Service.
  • Perform service audits routinely on each employee.
  • Ensure monthly cross-sell quotas are being met by each employee.
  • Coach/train employees as needed.
  • Assist employees in researching and reconciling posting errors on memberโ€™s accounts.
  • Performs routine inspections to ensure accuracy of the following:
    • Cash vault, teller cash drawers, cash machines, vouchers, etc.
    • Audit reports.
    • GL recons related to the branch.
    • Employee work (teller receipts, new account/loan folders).
  • Creates necessary branch reports, including monthly management report.
  • Has a thorough understanding of AML/BSA regulations to ensure self and branch staff compliance in carrying out related policies and procedures and filling out proper reports in a timely and accurate method. Responsible for processing SARs, CTRs, and the BSA alerts.
  • Manages the performance of all employees which include:
    • Enforcing Credit Union policies and procedures.
    • Evaluating employee performance in the form of written evaluations.
    • Conduct one-on-one meetings with individual employees to ensure goals are being met.
  • Oversees and is up to date in knowledge, procedures and policies regarding all areas and positions of the branch operations.
  • Performs other related duties, including special projects as needed or requested.
DEVELOPMENT:
  • Ensuring staff is properly trained and informed by:
    • Training and coaching in practices and procedures, applicable to each position. This is expected ongoing (everyday) as needed to ensure the proper growth and development of staff.
    • Conducting timely (at least monthly and more often if necessary) department meetings to discuss or review problems and/or explain new procedures.
    • Ensuring staff completes assigned yearly training duties assigned by Executive Management in relation to their specific duties.
  • Ensure continuing education/development for self:
    • Attend necessary training/planning events.
    • Attend/hold necessary meetings (management, committee, consistency, staff, etc.).
    • Network internally and externally to aide in evaluating, developing and enhancing Affidianโ€™s culture.
MEMBER SERVICE:
  • Ensure an on-going environment that is member friendly, to succeed with the Credit Unionโ€™s mission statement and core values:
    • Be available to members for any questions or concerns they may have.
    • Spend an appropriate amount of time building relationships with members and employees.
    • Assist in business development functions periodically and community events.
  • Assist members with the following services if needed, in a back up capacity to support staff and ensure members are served in a timely manner:
    • Teller transactions.
    • New Account services.
    • Process, close and book consumer loan requests.
LEADERSHIP:
  • Recommends, administers and adheres to policies and procedures for overall branch operations.
  • Ensure employees are trained and accountable for knowing and helping to meet organizational goals.
  • Review long term employee goals periodically to facilitate a healthy succession plan. Utilize training certificate program to aid employeesโ€™ growth plans.
  • Bring resolution to employee and/or member complaints to ensure an appropriate level of service recovery.
Performance Standards:
  • Must have a strong knowledge of banking operations and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Act and state and federal laws concerning collection activities.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Provide courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all members and staff in an accurate manner.
  • Ability and knowledge to perform the duties of all branch personnel.
  • Assist the digital department with phones/chats as the situation needs and services may warrant.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and work environment.
  • Comply with all the published directives and expectations of the Affidian CU Employee Handbook.
  • Support all internal and external educational opportunities.
  • Support all corporate goals and objectives.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Must have excellent verbal communications and listening skills.
  • Pro-active in solving problems and taking initiative to go a step above in all situations.
  • Must have organizational skills to handle a large volume of information for varying calls.
  • Ability to adapt independently with a moderate level of supervision.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Must have worked in a financial institution for a minimum of three years, with at least two yearsโ€™ experience with a Credit Union.
  • Minimum three yearsโ€™ experience in management.
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Business Administration or other related field from an accredited university.
Skills Required:

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive contact with others inside and outside of the Credit Union and is usually personal or sensitive in nature. Outside contact is important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies, governmental agencies, and/or individuals) is necessary.
