Job description

Clean luxury. Better for you. At Everlane, we believe luxury should be as effortless as it is conscious. We partner with ethical factories, work with premium, sustainably sourced materials, and strive to leave the industry cleaner than we found it. There's still much to do, and we're excited to grow a team of motivated humans ready for the challenge. The journey toward better continues.
The People Operations team is responsible for delivering an exceptional, consistent employee experience from a team member's first day through their last. We're building People Ops differently - simplifying what's complex, using data and systems to drive better decisions, and creating processes that actually work for a modern, retail-driven organization.
We're looking for a People Operations Manager to own and evolve the core People infrastructure that supports both our corporate and retail teams. You will oversee the employee lifecycle, compensation and benefits operations, performance processes, and compliance - ensuring Everlane's people programs are scalable, accurate, and designed with the employee experience at the center.
This is a full-time role based in our Los Angeles Arts District office and reports to our VP of People.
Your day-to-day:
People Operations & Programs
  • Own and continuously improve core People Operations programs, including onboarding, offboarding, performance management, internal mobility, and employee lifecycle management.
  • Partner with our VP of People to support benefits administration, leaves of absence, and open enrollment.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant execution across compensation, benefits, and employee records.
Systems & Data
  • Serve as a key owner of our HRIS and People systems (UKG, ADP, Zendesk and related tools).
  • Maintain clean, reliable people data and workflows across systems.
  • Support audits, identify gaps, and drive improvements across systems, policies, and processes.
Compliance & Risk
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, DOL, Workers' Compensation, and health & safety.
  • Proactively identify compliance risks and partner with Legal, Payroll, and Finance to resolve them.
Employee & Manager Support
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members and leaders on policies, procedures, and people programs.
  • Support managers with employee lifecycle questions, performance processes, and internal mobility.
Build strong relationships across the organization and serve as a trusted People Ops partner.
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Work closely with Finance, Payroll, IT, and Retail Operations to ensure people processes are aligned, efficient, and scalable.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • 5+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or HR Analytics
  • Strong hands-on experience with HRIS and People systems (UKG, ADP, Zendesk preferred)
  • Experience supporting a retail or hourly (non-exempt), multi-location workforce.
  • A people-first mindset paired with a strong operational backbone
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and clean data
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
  • High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
  • A service-oriented mindset with the ability to support employees and leaders with empathy and clarity
