Operations Manager

Reports To: Director of Operations

FLSA Status: Exempt

At Blankenship CPA Group, PLLC our roots are planted deeply in serving Nashville's growing business and professional community. Blankenship is a Top Ten Nashville public accounting firm of approximately 250 professionals. We serve our clients' Tax, Audit, Accounting and Consulting needs in the Nashville, Tennessee and Middle-South market through our experienced accountants in our Brentwood, Columbia, Dickson, Goodlettsville, Mt. Juliet, Murfreesboro and Nashville offices. 

Position Summary

Blankenship is seeking a full-time Operations Manager to work from our Brentwood, TN office. The Operations Manager will assist in managing the firm’s practice management systems, operations, workflows, and related. This role maintains firmwide standards for operational efficiency, resource coordination, technology alignment, and multi-office consistency. The Operations Manager collaborates closely with leadership to strengthen internal processes, support compliance, improve client-facing operational pathways, and contribute to the firm’s long-term operational strategy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Brentwood Operations Manager

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correct process gaps or problem areas within Operations
  • Oversee daily operational effectiveness across all office locations.
  • Standardize, document, and refine procedures to reduce bottlenecks and improve turnaround times.
  • Support seasonal workload planning during peak cycles (tax deadlines, audit seasons, quarterly spikes).
  • Support training programs, onboarding, and continued development for operational roles.

2. Technology & Systems Oversight

  • Support practice management, workflow, document management, and tax/audit integration into systems/workflows.
  • Support operational integration and alignment across multiple office locations.
  • Work with Director of Technology to support automation, efficiency, and process improvements of practice management and related financial processes.
  • Support and help lead implementations of new systems or major upgrades affecting operations.
  • Lead or assist with change initiatives, including operations system migrations, process redesigns.
  • Contribute to strategic planning efforts related to resource needs, service expansion, and firm capacity of operations team.
  • Project Management Skills

3. Client Experience Optimization

  • Improve client-facing operational processes such as onboarding, communications, portal use, document flow, and response tracking.
  • Work with service line leaders to resolve workflow or operational issues that affect client satisfaction.

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7–10 years of experience in a professional services environment, with public accounting (CPA firm) experience strongly preferred; similar fields such as legal, consulting, or financial services also valued.
  • Demonstrated experience in operations management, workflow oversight, or process improvement within a multiteam or multioffice setting.
  • Experience supporting service line operations and client-facing teams.
  • Prior responsibility for system implementations or practice management platforms is preferred.
