Position Summary

DREAM seeks an organized, people-centered, and energetic People & Operations Manager to support our people systems while helping build a connected, supportive, and high-performing organizational culture.

This position combines core human resources responsibilities—including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, compliance, training, and advancement—with a broader focus on employee engagement, recognition, staff gatherings, and organizational operations. The Manager will help ensure employees and AmeriCorps members feel supported, connected, challenged to grow, and excited to be part of DREAM.

Essential Functions

People, Culture & Engagement

  • Help foster a supportive, connected, fun, play-based, and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Coordinate staff gatherings, retreats, celebrations, and recognition efforts.
  • Gather employee feedback and identify opportunities to strengthen engagement, communication, and retention.
  • Support internal communications related to people, culture, benefits, and organizational resources.

Recruitment, Onboarding & Employee Support

  • Coordinate recruitment, candidate communication, interviews, reference checks, and hiring documentation.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding for employees and AmeriCorps members.
  • Serve as a resource for routine questions related to HR processes, policies, benefits, and training.
  • Maintain confidential personnel records and employee documentation.

Benefits, Training & Advancement

  • Support benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communications.
  • Maintain DREAM’s TalentLMS platform and required training records.
  • Coordinate organization-wide training and professional development opportunities.
  • Support performance reviews, goal setting, career development, and employee advancement processes.
  • Help maintain consistent systems for recognizing employee growth and accomplishments.

Compliance & Organizational Operations

  • Maintain accurate information in BambooHR and other people-related systems.
  • Track required HR documentation, deadlines, and compliance activities.
  • Coordinate required federal and state employment notices, Department of Labor postings, and related communications.
  • Support updates to employee policies, handbooks, forms, and resources.
  • Partner with DREAM’s external HR consultants on employee relations, employment law, compliance, and other specialized matters.
  • Support additional organizational and operational projects as DREAM continues to grow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to four years of experience in human resources, recruiting, employee engagement, nonprofit operations, or a related field.
  • Strong organization, communication, relationship-building, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and confidential information professionally.
  • Comfort learning and maintaining online systems and databases.
  • Experience with recruitment, onboarding, benefits, training, or employee engagement preferred.
  • Experience with BambooHR, TalentLMS, AmeriCorps, or nonprofit organizations is a plus.

Compensation
