Primary Duties:

  • Develops and executes a manufacturing strategy focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost employing advanced manufacturing techniques and total work systems.
  • Lead the Operations, Planning, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Engineering teams to drive stronger results while promoting creativity, innovation and proactive problem solving. Develop strategic outlook to our manufacturing processes including establishing teaming agreements and partnerships, critical supplier relationships, prudent outsourcing, detailed capacity planning, efficient collaboration with sister companies and integration of new process capabilities.
  • Create strategic relationships with all internal leaders to execute manufacturing strategies and process improvements focused on improving manufacturing processes and yields as well as reducing manufacturing costs through innovative methodologies and established manufacturing principles such as Process Controls, 5S, Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Improve operating margins by establishing, measuring, and meeting goals related, but not limited to on time delivery, cycle time reduction, yield improvement, internal rework and improved throughput.
  • Formulate policies, programs and objectives regarding the production schedule, product quality, and cost of manufactured products; maintain a shared accountability for gross margin with strong financial acumen to deliver on cost targets.
  • Partner with R&D Engineering and NPI teams to ensure that technical issues that relate to current production are resolved in an efficient and expedient manner.
  • Consistent with the FLIR NPI process, ensure sufficient design review, documentation and testing has occurred to enable smooth new product introduction.
  • Working collaboratively and proactively with the Director of Quality to ensure conformance with AS9100/ISO quality system while driving continuous improvement activities
  • Mentor and inspire team while overseeing talent development, succession planning, and
  • performance management initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend plans for budget, capital equipment, and human resources to meet quarterly and fiscal year production objectives.
  • Provide appropriate management reporting of revenues, finished goods, inventory, labor and material variances, on time delivery and efficiencies.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent and relevant experience. MBA preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years related work experience in a manufacturing management role preferably in a high-tech manufacturing environment. Extensive current knowledge of electronics manufacturing and process control. Demonstrated ability to manage projects in terms of cost and schedule. Seasoned experience in developing and training supervisory personnel in functional areas of manufacturing.
