Description

ย Job Summary:

In this position, you will perform a variety of warehouse duties operating various equipment, most often an electric rider pallet jack, supporting our cold storage and food distribution operations. This position requires completion of mandatory annual 8-hour HAZWOPER safety training.


What you'll do (including, but not limited to):ย 

  • Load and unload freight in a safe, efficient, accurate, and timely manner
  • Move customer product to storage areas using proper material handling equipment and efficiently stage product for storage in the appropriate area
  • Place palletized product in storage racks on the refrigerated dock or in the freezer, and record and communicate the location with customer coordinators
  • Pick orders for shipment and assemble customer product to be shipped
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of adulteration, damage, and temperature abuse
  • Operate all material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required
  • Maintain housekeeping for a safe, clean, and neat warehouse
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including required PPE for cold temperatures, overhead obstructions, noise, and battery-handling hazards
  • Charge and maintain material handling equipment batteries as needed
  • Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all managers and employees
  • Notify the Warehouse Operations Manager of any problems with procedures or equipment to help maintain the highest degree of safety, inventory accuracy, and productivity
  • Perform other duties as requested

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, reach, bend, twist, kneel and use hands to handle various products.
  • Consistently lift, move, push, pull and carry upwards of 40 lbs. depending on product and business operations.
  • Occasionally lift, move, push, pull and carry upwards of 100 lbs. with assistance depending on product and business operations.
  • Work around, on or near a variety of equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, warehouse racking systems, electronic devices and refrigeration systems.

  • Moving objects, including pallet jacks, forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Moderate noise levels depending on warehouse operations.
  • Working around refrigeration systems that may include freon or ammonia-based coolants.
  • Inclement weather subject to loading and receiving dock configuration.
  • Interior temperatures between 70 to -15 degrees Fahrenheit (21 to -26 degrees Celsius)

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Prior warehouse, forklift, or material handling experience highly preferred
  • Ability to work in a cold storage/freezer environment and operate powered industrial equipment
  • Willingness to complete mandatory annual 8-hour HAZWOPER safety training
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.ย
