H2O Innovation provides public works management services & operations assistance for water & wastewater treatment plants to municipalities, government organizations, and businesses across North America.


H2O Innovation is seeking a results-driven Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of multiple municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective operation of assigned contracts while delivering exceptional customer service to our clients.

This position provides leadership to Project Managers, Operators, Maintenance personnel, and support staff while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The Operations Manager works closely with clients, regulatory agencies, corporate leadership, and cross-functional departments including Human Resources, Safety, Finance, and Procurement to achieve operational excellence.

The Day-to-Day

  • Provide operational leadership for multiple water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Ensure facilities consistently meet permit requirements, regulatory standards, and client expectations.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that improve efficiency, reliability, and service delivery.
  • Monitor plant performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Conduct routine site visits to ensure operational consistency and compliance.
  • Review operational reports and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Assist with startup and transition of new operations and maintenance contracts
  • Serve as the primary operational contact for municipal and industrial clients.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers.
  • Attend client meetings and present operational updates, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives.
  • Address client concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure contractual obligations and service level agreements are consistently achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with all EPA, TCEQ, OSHA, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with water quality permits, wastewater discharge permits, and environmental reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections and corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
  • Promote H2O Innovation's Safety First culture.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct safety observations and support safety training initiatives.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor safety performance and participate in company safety initiatives.

The Skills We Are Looking For

  • Texas Class A or B Water or Wastewater Operator License (or ability to obtain).
  • Multi-site operations management experience.
  • Experience managing municipal operations contracts.
  • Experience with SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of CMMS software.
  • Experience managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Understanding of EPA, TCEQ, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
