This individual provides guidance and direction to supervisors and leads to ensure daily operations are aligned with business objectives. Furthermore, the Operations Manager will prioritize and assign tasks to ensure that the team's resources are used effectively, and work schedules and targets are aligned. Essential Duties
  • Provides guidance, direction and development to supervisors and team leads.
  • Oversees labor allocation, performance management, training, and development of staff members.
  • Ensures team's compliance with safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources for recruitment, performance management and evaluations, transfers, and promotions.
  • Creates and executes production output strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Identifies and addresses spatial, systemic, and process related obstacles that negatively impact operational progress.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships across all levels within the organization to ensure alignment toward global business objectives.
  • Communicates with customers and vendors to answer questions or resolve concerns or needs.
  • Tracks and provides updates to business leaders on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for department.
  • Prepares production reports, project status updates, and strategy presentations when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in a distribution and/or manufacturing environment
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a distribution and/or manufacturing environment
  • Experience effectively leading team through others
  • Intermediate experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), WMS, and an ERP system (preferably JDE Systems)
  • Strong financial acumen and strategic planning experience
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate standard operating procedures and training documents
  • Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
  • Proactive "self-starter" with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with all employee levels, including executive management.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is crucial as the company holds significant trade secret information
Preferred Key Competencies Inter-Relationships Consistent interaction with hourly production/distribution team members, management, and Human Resources. May interact with outside vendors, third party truck drivers, and customers. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Work Environment This position works office setting (heated and cooled) within in a distribution work setting with minimal temperature control and multiple dock doors and semi-functional warehouse management system. Frequently exposed to seasonal temperatures of excessive cold or heat. Work environment is often loud, dusty and/or dirty.
