JOB TITLE: Operations Manager                                                            DEPARTMENT:  AUXILIARY SERVICES   

SALARY RANGE:  $45,000 - $50,000                                                      FLSA:  EXEMPT

 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Director of the Bookstore & Auxiliary Services

SCHEDULE DETAILS:  Full-time/12 month position/PEERS - Afternoon/Evening Closing Shift

 

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the campus store. Primary duties include convenience store management, end of day store closing, supporting the fulfillment of online orders, inventory processes, accounts payable, administrative support, and maintaining store supplies.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Manage the convenience store department, including product selection, ordering, stock rotation, and reporting.
  • Oversee nightly store closing, including end of day processing and store restocking.
  • Function as the primary Eagle Store manager and backup food service manager during evening hours and special events held in the student union.
  • Support the management of online order fulfillment in coordination with the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Provide administrative support services for the Eagle Store with payment requests, retrieving reports, preparing work orders, balancing cash drawers and reports of payments, preparing the daily deposit, and preparing reports indicating merchandise sold.
  • Oversee term-end and year-end inventory processes to ensure that all established policies and procedures are followed, and work in conjunction with the Budget and Finance Office to reconcile inventory values.
  • Maintain an adequate stock of necessary store supplies by establishing vendors, monitoring stock, and placing orders in a timely manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, faculty, and visitors.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events. 

 

Non-Essential Job Duties

  • Research national trends for campus stores and analyze inventory status as needed.
  • Assist with retail accounting activities as needed in conjunction with the Budget and Finance Department.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Two years of experience in retail/inventory management.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Associate degree in business administration, education, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Experience supervising retail operations on a two-year or four-year college campus.
  • Experience managing convenience store operations.
  • Experience with point-of-sales systems.
  • Experience with Colleague.
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting.
