Environmental Services Manager/Project Manager

S&ME is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Environmental Services Manager to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee.
As an Environmental Services Manager, you will lead Environmental Services within our office, taking on a key leadership role that goes beyond traditional management and leverages your experience to strengthen and enhance operational performance.
Your leadership skills, project management expertise, and commitment to client satisfaction and quality delivery will be essential in successfully executing environmental projects and supporting organizational growth. In this role, you will oversee staff, collaborate with other managers and team leads, manage project execution, and participate in business development efforts to build and sustain strong client relationships.
Your Day-to-Day:
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and coach team members to support professional growth and performance.
  • Ensure achievement of key objectives related to safety, quality, human resources, financial performance, and risk management.
  • Assign qualified and appropriately certified staff to projects, optimizing utilization and supporting project profitability.
  • Act as a community leader by collaborating with other office leaders to enhance S&ME's visibility within the local community and professional organizations.
  • Partner with project managers and leaders across service lines to identify opportunities and provide necessary resources to support successful project pursuit and delivery.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience conducting and managing environmental projects.
  • TN Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist license preferred
    • Additional environmental certifications/accreditations are a plus
  • Demonstrated successful team leadership and management with a good understanding of safety policies/procedures, quality, business metrics, human resources policies/procedures, and risk management concepts
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, staff, and regulatory personnel
  • Effective technical, project management, client management, and business development
