Job Description:

This entry level management position is responsible for directing the daily activities related to the execution of technical writing to author and release planning instructions via the electronic planning system (EPS) for hardware fabrication in the factory.

The Associate Manager will oversee a team of Union employees responsible for interpreting engineering requirements, creating planning, and routing within the factory in the EPS. Additionally, this management role includes maintaining and updating company procedures governing Manufacturing Engineering and planning.

Essential Functions:

  • Managing Union Employees: Direct daily work assignments to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments. Maintain employee training and critical skills. Support employee growth through training in manufacturing and engineering requirements and processes. Approve timecards and managing labor charging to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Factory Support: Attend daily factory meetings to support shop floor requirements. Determine the priorities in the planning department to ensure they are aligned with factory schedule needs and keep hardware flowing the factory.
  • Maintaining Operations Procedures: Learn and become the subject matter expert in procedure that governs Manufacturing Engineering and planning. Make sure procedures are aligned to ISO 9001 standards and current shop practices. Make necessary updates as required for business efficiency or gaps found through corrective action.
  • Support Site Audits: Support internal and external audits of the manufacturing area. Drive root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective action on any findings
  • Support & Drive Safety: Identify, report, and eliminate unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. Work with your teams to implement safety improvements and drive a culture that promotes a safe environment.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement Initiatives: Drive process improvement projects to achieve greater efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability with a focus on reduced costs and improved quality.
  • Ability to obtain a US LEVEL security clearance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business or related field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant Operations experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related Operations experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in State of California is $88,000 - $164,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
