What we are looking for:

The Head of Business Operations, Private Wealth (Canada) will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Global Head of Operations and play a critical role in driving operational excellence across the Private Wealth business in Canada. This dedicated leadership role is designed to enable the Head of Private Wealth Canada to focus on accelerating growth, while ensuring the business operates with maximum efficiency, scalability, and alignment to Fiera's strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the Private Wealth space, with a strong understanding of its unique opportunities and challenges. They will be responsible for defining and executing a clear operational roadmap that enhances the client experience, strengthens internal processes, and fosters cross-functional collaboration. As a trusted partner, this leader will champion operational initiatives that support secure, consistent, and high-performing business operations-ultimately contributing to the long-term success and growth of the Private Wealth platform.

Your responsibilities:

Strategic Operational Leadership

  • Define and execute a comprehensive operational roadmap that supports scalable growth and enhances the client experience.

  • Drive projects from inception to completion, aligning deliverables with Private Wealth strategic objectives.

  • Serve as the key liaison between the Head of Private Wealth's team and other key internal stakeholders - including Global Operations, Technology, Trading, and Compliance, ensuring operational alignment and seamless execution.

  • Support pricing, profitability analysis, and business case development.

Business Administration & Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage and assume the business ownership role, while ensuring appropriate governance structures are in place, for key vendor and custodian relationships.

  • Oversee core administrative functions including regulatory governance (e.g. KYC, IPS) and approval flows (e.g. cash withdrawals, billing setup, etc.).

  • Ensure operational processes meet compliance standards and support risk mitigation across all client and business activities.

  • In close collaboration with the Private Wealth team, oversee all back-end client processes, including onboarding, portal access management, and the timely and accurate delivery of client statements.

Operational Support & Issue Resolution

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues such as trading errors, billing discrepancies, and reporting concerns, and coordinate timely resolution with internal stakeholders (e.g., compliance, finance, technology, client service). Act as Private Wealth's representative on various committees, including the Trade Error & Transaction Management & Oversight Committees.

  • Establish and maintain clear escalation protocols and reporting mechanisms to ensure accountability and timely resolution.

Systems & Platforms Oversight

  • Lead the governance and optimization of systems and platforms supporting the Private Wealth business.

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all platforms, enabling reliable reporting and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with technology teams to assess system performance, identify gaps, and implement enhancements aligned with Private Wealth business needs.

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA, FRM, CIPM) preferred

  • 15+ years of operations and business support experience in a private wealth and/or asset management setting, with 10+ years of management experience

  • Strong understanding of Canadian wealth management and institutional investment operating models

  • Proven leadership in business operations, strategy execution, or transformation roles

  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and cost governance

  • Experience with acquisitions and investment team lift-outs

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and initiatives

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to all levels of stakeholders

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a global, cross-functional environment

  • Adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • High level of integrity and professionalism

  • Strategic thinking with hands on execution capability

  • Bilingual (English/French) is a strong asset in the Canadian market
