Job Description

We are currently searching for an experienced Operations Manager, 3rd Shift to work at our Garland Utah, distribution center. This supervisory position is responsible for directing and leading the process flow to ensure the department's SLAs are being met. In addition, you'll develop policies and procedures to enhance and streamline processes, as well as provide hands-on team leadership that includes training, mentoring and coaching employees. The successful candidate will have a strong sense of urgency to excel in a fast-paced environment, plus the ability to perform root-cause analyses to identify the source of errors and implement improvements. You'll also possess superb attention to detail, an ability to juggle multiple projects and excellent interpersonal skills to help lead and inspire the team to do their best work.

A day at Lakeshore looks like this: 

  • Planning and monitoring daily labor needs based on immediate and forecasted order and unit volumes 
  • Creating and implementing standards and metrics for the team 
  • Understand Inventory movements based on item velocity and operational goals 
  • Detailed understanding of operational goals and special projects to ensure inventory accuracy and placement within the warehouse 
  • Providing team motivation to ensure goals are being met accurately and efficiently 
  • Encouraging teamwork while obtaining a high level of associate morale and recognition 
  • Managing and positioning on-hand inventory to fulfill customer orders 
  • Understanding the goals for the day to effectively communicate achievements and challenges throughout the day 
  • Working with the leadership team to effectively communicate achievements and challenges throughout the day 
  • Complying with federal, state and local warehousing, material handling and receiving requirements, as well as enforcing safety policies and techniques 
  • Ensuring the organization and physical appearance of the department are in good standing order 
  • Developing performance by appraising, coaching and counseling 
  • Developing ongoing process improvements for all associates to ensure efficient operations 
Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-4years of leadership and performance management experience required 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with outbound/order fulfillment operations required 
  • Experience handling the following power equipment is a plus: cherry picker, sit-down, reach and turret truck 
  • Demonstrated ability to build a high-performance team and an engaging work environment 
  • High-achiever/performer who is results-oriented and strives for maximum service levels 
  • Flexible and dependable personality 
  • Strong relationship-building skills; disciplined and professional 
  • Ability to problem-solve with the needs of the customer and company in mind 
  • Ability to lead a crew and support rules and regulations 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously 
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule tasks to ensure the most efficient use of time 
  • Knowledgeability of safety practices and OSHA requirements 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
  • Strong skills in MS Excel
