Role Overview
The Business Partner, Operations supports and ensures the delivery of Operational functions in Belfast/Manila, mentoring and supporting these functions on an ongoing basis while acting as an Operations escalation point to the E&C business in the Americas (US, Canada & Brazil). The role acts as a liaison between the US Business and the Operations team regarding BAU issues and challenges, and works closely with Operations to ensure correct support and prioritisation for new initiatives and regulatory changes. The role requires specific knowledge of onboarding processes including regulatory classification, client due diligence, and credit, as well as a wider knowledge of Operations to provide general support. Responsibilities will evolve over time.
Role Responsibilities
  • Act as a senior stakeholder in collaboration with Operational Services Management and Regional Operational Leads, representing Operational Services at senior stakeholder meetings and supporting New Business initiatives
  • Develop and maintain an engagement model with Operational Support teams, ensuring expected service levels, long-term knowledge development, and clear role and responsibility distinctions
  • Serve as an escalation point for BAU issues, maintaining strong relationships with Senior Business management in the Americas and assessing the impact of business-driven changes
  • Represent Operations in regulatory-driven meetings where changes may impact compliance requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and service providers
  • Support the business with client engagement or support as necessary
  • Set and manage project milestones, ensuring clear and timely communication with team members and stakeholders
  • Participate in Operations-wide initiatives to drive efficiencies and support ongoing business initiatives
  • Identify risks to the firm or business and support completion of risk event and risk issue closures
  • Build strong working relationships across Operational Services and the wider Ops function, mentoring colleagues and providing 4-eye review where required, while ensuring adherence to internal policies and risk management responsibilities

Experience / Competences
Essential
  • Sound knowledge of the financial markets, financial regulation, and Anti-Money Laundering regulations applicable to TP ICAP in the Americas
  • A broad base of Operations knowledge and experience, specifically client onboarding and client due diligence, and a good understanding of TP ICAP, its trading entities and brands
  • Specific and high-level experience and knowledge for a specific function within Operations
  • Demonstrable experience of leading a function or staff, with the ability to support and mentor colleagues
  • Demonstrable experience of senior stakeholder engagement within Operations in a wider context

Desired
  • Solid experience developing engagement models with operational support teams
  • Reasonable experience representing Operations in regulatory-driven discussions
  • Solid experience building strong relationships with external vendors or service providers
  • Reasonable experience supporting business teams with client engagement
