Senior Marketplace Operations Associate
Built is looking for a Marketplace Operations Senior Associate to help scale the operational backbone of our inspection and services marketplace. If you're someone who gets energized by bringing order to complexity, building processes from scratch, interacting directly with customers, and using data to drive decisions, this is a rare opportunity to own something that matters.
Built's Marketplace connects lenders with a network of inspection and diligence vendors, and it's the largest single growth driver in the company. The team that runs it handles everything from vendor onboarding and supply management to order operations and billing. The processes that exist today were built for a smaller business. Your job is to run them, document them, and replace them with something that scales.
You'll work directly alongside the team lead and report to the Director of Operations. You'll have cross-functional exposure to product, engineering, accounting, analytics, client success, and more from day one, along with direct visibility into how operational decisions drive business outcomes.
What You'll Do
Vendor Onboarding and Supply Management
  • Own the end-to-end vendor onboarding workflow: document collection, compliance verification, payment setup, and training.
  • Maintain and improve inspector coverage, performance tracking, and network quality as order volume grows.
Marketplace and Order Operations
  • Manage order exception handling, reassignments, and issue resolution day to day.
  • Build and maintain dashboards that give the team real-time visibility into order status and operational health.
  • Work with the product team to replace manual workarounds with in-product solutions as they become available.
  • Partner with the accounting and analytics teams to map, document, and automate a currently manual billing process.
  • Own billing accuracy and help drive the transition from a manual monthly cycle to an automated engine.
Process Documentation and Automation
  • Translate documented processes into clear requirements for the product and engineering teams.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities across the team's operational toolkit throughout the year.
Must-haves
  • 4+ years of experience in business operations, consulting, or a high-growth startup environment with broad, hands-on responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and build structure where no clear playbook exists.
  • Proven track record of using data to diagnose problems, identify trends, and drive informed operational decisions-not just report on outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate complex operational and technical concepts for both cross-functional stakeholders and non-technical customers.
  • Ability to own and drive workstreams end-to-end, influencing cross-functional teams to achieve results.
  • Skilled in building and managing customer relationships with professionalism and empathy, confidently navigating conflict and not hesitating to engage directly with customers-including picking up the phone-to resolve issues and strengthen trust.
Nice to have
  • Experience with SQL or a data visualization tool such as Sigma, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Experience in construction, real estate, property technology, or financial services.
  • Familiarity with no-code or low-code automation tools.

Built's salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 USD per year. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role, therefore it encompasses the full span of proficiency levels for this role and we believe that the midpoint of the range is competitive in the market. Salary is just one component of Built's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Built will include equity, top-notch medical, dental and vision coverage, an unlimited PTO policy, and other benefits.
Travel Requirement: If the role isn't required to be hybrid or on-site, non-local candidates (not based in Nashville metro) must be able to travel at minimum twice per year to Nashville, TN or another designated location for company-wide events (e.g., "Connect Week"). Additional travel may be required based on business needs and role responsibilities.
Perks:
  • The rare opportunity to radically disrupt a $1.5T industry
  • Competitive benefits including: uncapped vacation [US ONLY], health, dental & vision insurance
  • Robust compensation package, including equity in the form of stock options
  • Learning Grant program to support ongoing professional development
  • 401k with match and expedited vesting [US ONLY]

We're committed to building a safe, inclusive workplace where every employee can succeed, and we recruit, hire, and promote fairly - without bias based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
