Job description

Operations Assistant

$19–$23/hour | Full-Time | Onsite | New Cumberland, PA
Looking for a place where reliability and a strong work ethic are valued?
Controls, Service & Engineering Co., Inc. (CSE) is a family-owned and operated company that has been serving Central Pennsylvania for more than 50 years. We provide high-quality HVAC and plumbing service and installations to leading industrial, medical, and commercial facilities throughout the area.
We have an opportunity for an additional Operations Assistant to join our established office team.
This is an important behind-the-scenes role for someone who takes pride in being dependable, organized and accurate. If you're the kind of person who notices the details, follows through on what you say you'll do, and enjoys being someone your coworkers can count on, you may be exactly who we're looking for.
This isn't a position where you'll do the same thing all day. You'll support several areas of our operation and help make sure the details that keep our business moving don't fall through the cracks.
What You'll Do
As our Operations Assistant, you'll work with different members of the CSE team and take responsibility for a variety of administrative and operational tasks, including:
  • Entering customer work orders accurately into our software system
  • Supporting Accounts Payable with data entry, vendor questions, invoices, and cash receipts
  • Receiving shipments and verifying inventory
  • Assisting with our tool room, including tracking tool repairs and calibrations
  • Managing vehicle registrations and our E-Z Pass program
  • Maintaining office, cleaning, safety, and other company supplies
  • Coordinating travel arrangements for technicians
  • Supporting our employee uniform rental and purchasing programs
  • Helping with other administrative and operational needs as they arise

It's a role with variety, but one common theme: the details matter.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who brings more than administrative skills. We're looking for a person who takes ownership of their work and wants to become a trusted, long-term member of our team.
You'll be a strong fit if you:

  • Have a solid work history that demonstrates dependability and commitment
  • Have at least 1–2 years of administrative or office experience; service industry experience is a plus
  • Take pride in being accurate and catching the little things others may miss
  • Are organized and able to keep track of multiple responsibilities
  • Follow through and complete what you start
  • Have a strong work ethic and don't need someone constantly checking on your work
  • Are comfortable asking questions when something doesn't look right
  • Communicate professionally and clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Are comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office
  • Enjoy being part of a team and are willing to pitch in when needed
  • Can comfortably move between office responsibilities and occasional receiving/warehouse tasks
  • Can meet deadlines and lift up to 35 pounds when necessary

What You Can Expect From CSE
We believe good employees deserve a workplace where they can do good work, be treated with respect, and know their contributions matter.
CSE offers:
  • $19–$23 per hour, based on experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Short- and long-term disability
  • 401(k) and other voluntary benefits
  • Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays
  • Cross-training and the opportunity to learn different areas of the business
  • A supportive, team-oriented work environment
  • The stability of a family-owned company that has been in business for more than 50 years

Our Culture
How we work together matters at CSE. Our cultural norms guide how we treat our customers, our work, and one another:

  • Go above and beyond
  • Choose your attitude
  • Communicate openly
  • Intentionally build connections
  • Own it
  • Improve, grow, and always pursue better
  • Show gratitude, practice generosity, and apply grace

Sound Like You?
If you're looking for your next long-term opportunity and want to be part of an established company where dependability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are noticed and appreciated, we'd like to hear from you.
Apply today and tell us why CSE sounds like the right next step for you.
