Job description

Kelly Science is seeking a Laboratory Operations Assistant to join a growing company located in Farmingdale, NY.
 
Pay: $28/hour
Shift: Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:30pm
Employment Type: Full Time; Temp-to-hire
 
Summary:
As the Laboratory Operations Assistant, you will support daily lab operations by maintaining inventory, organizing supplies, keeping equipment and workspaces clean and functional, assisting with documentation, and ensuring safety compliance. This role helps keep the lab organized, compliant, and ready for daily testing.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and supply inventory.
  • Receive, stock, label, and organize laboratory chemicals, standards, and consumables.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering laboratory supplies.
  • Perform routine inspections of chemicals, standards, and laboratory equipment to ensure proper labeling, storage, and expiration dates.
  • Wash and organize laboratory glassware and maintain common laboratory areas.
  • Complete routine safety inspections, equipment upkeep, and required documentation.
  • Assist with hazardous waste coordination and disposal records.
  • Enter and maintain inventory information in the Laboratory Management System (LMS).
  • Support laboratory personnel with general operational needs to ensure efficient daily workflow.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific related field preferred. Prior laboratory experience strongly preferred.
  • Willing to follow GMP requirements (training provided)
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills; dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn lab management software
  • Physically able to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and work safely in a lab environment with PPE
