Job Title: Toolmaker
Summary:

Support manufacturing and engineering departments by manufacturing various production and prototype components, fixtures, and tools.


Responsibilities:

  • Machine complex tooling and fixtures working with Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering

  • Creating and proofing CNC programs using Proto-Trak

  • Set-up and run of manual machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, shears, saws, etc.

  • Set up and run CNC lathes (2 axis) and mills (2 axis) in prototype and production environment.

  • Set-up and operate surface grinding machines.

  • Develop, fabricate, and sharpen various cutting tools and specialty tools.

  • Inspect GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) features using basic and advanced inspection techniques.

  • Cut open units to complete production operations.

  • Assist shop management in training shop employees in common machine shop practices and company specific processes and procedures.

  • All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
Required:

  • High mechanical aptitude

  • Proficiency in trigonometry

  • Working knowledge of computers.

  • Understand the mechanics of chip formation and metal cutting.

  • Knowledge of ANSI/EIA RS - 274 (\"G\" code NC programs)

  • High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution

  • 5+ yearsโ€™ experience in trade as a tool maker.

  • Experience or formal education in design/drafting with emphasis on CAD

  • Resides within a reasonable commuting distance.

  • US person within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US Permanent resident (Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee


Preferred:

  • AS in technical field.
