CST Position in Lawton, OK

Our client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a CST for their Lawton, OK location. Responsibilities include:

  • Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the surgical technologist assists in the delivery of patient care as a member of the surgical team and assumes appropriate responsibility for delivery of that care before, during and after surgery.
  • Participates and implements age specific care and interaction.
  • Employee has attended departmental orientation (training) and annual inservice education for age specific training and implements in the work area what was learned in age specific training.
  • Employee maintains current competencies and certifications.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical errors.
  • Correct Site Procedure; Correct Counts; Fire Safety checks; All Equipment and Supplies available and ready for patient procedure.
  • Provides a sterile atmosphere before and during all surgical procedures.
  • Instruments and supplies are opened following established procedures to maintain a sterile field.
  • A sterile field is set up and maintained before and during the procedure.
  • The scrub remains aware of themselves and staff in OR suite and how they impact the sterile environment.
  • Maintains clean, safe and sanitary environment, before, during and after all procedures.
  • Performs accurate sponge, needle and instrument counts.
  • Operating Rooms are cleaned according to established procedures
  • Performs safe passing of instruments and sharps, to and from surgeon/field, minimizing potential for incident of injury or exposure.

Requirements include:

  • Certified Surgical Tech Needed
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2
  • BLS/BCLS
