About the Job
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team within a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials. This role is critical in ensuring that our shipping and receiving operations run smoothly while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
Duties:
  • Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks, to load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
  • Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Utilize RF scanners for tracking inventory and managing stock levels within the warehouse.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Handle heavy lifting and materials handling tasks as required, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a distribution center environment within the last 3 years.
  • Proven warehouse experience within the last 3 years.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety practices related to heavy equipment operation.
  • Ability to operate various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks, with proficiency.
  • Strong skills in shipping and receiving processes, along with materials handling techniques.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks as needed, demonstrating physical stamina and strength.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in inventory management.
  • A valid forklift operator certification is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
  • Lift 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights.
  • Bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull.
  • Stand, sit or walk for long periods of time.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel tools or equipment.
  • Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments.
  • Resume is required.
