Position summary: Leads and coordinates civil information modeling production, policies, procedures, and standards.
The Bentley Civil Information Modeling Manager is an authority on Bentley interoperability and technical standards, ensuring seamless integration of systems, data, and workflows across JMT for consistent project delivery. This role collaborates to establish and govern Bentley standards and acts as a support escalation point for issues impacting standards or workflows.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the definition and governance of how Bentley tools, platforms, and data are configured, connected, and scaled across the organization
  • Assist in the development of firmwide standards for Bentley OpenX, including interoperability, model and data exchange, data federation, metadata, and deliverable packaging
  • Provide guidance for PMs and design teams on model development and coordination. Interface with project managers on team capability requirements
  • Apply best practices to JMT design and production processes, guiding teams in implementing repeatable, compliant project designs aligned with firmwide standards and client requirements
  • Develop model standards for clients, maintain Bentley standards, including project setup templates, workspaces/configuration, QA/QC requirements, and standardized deliverables
  • Coordinate with leadership to manage controlled changes, versioning, and rollout of client and internal design standards across the firm
  • Contribute to automation efforts that support standards enforcement, configuration consistency, and reduced manual effort
  • Collaborate on the development of job aids, playbooks, internal documentation, and workflow/standards-based training materials
  • Contribute to communities of practice, office hours, and targeted training/coaching sessions focused on Bentley OpenX adoption and use. Assist with the propagation of this knowledge throughout the organization
  • Use escalation trends and project feedback to continuously refine standards, enablement strategies, and determine where additional training/SOP documentation is needed
  • Assist with research on new and emerging technologies that can be leveraged through existing CADD investments
  • Manages model integration, spanning OpenRoads, OpenBridge, ProjectWise, etc.
  • Act as an escalation support point for complex Bentley issues where standards interpretation, workflow decisions, or governance direction is required for OpenRoads, OpenBridge, etc.
  • Approve related Bentley upgrade direction and timing, ensuring changes align with enterprise standards and minimizing downstream impacts

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field (focused on transportation projects) from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • 8+ years' experience in transportation project delivery using products such as OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, and/or Microstation CE
  • Proficient understanding of OpenX civil features, model management, and plan development best practices
  • Cursory understanding of the configuration and augmentation of OpenX resources, templates and standards
  • BIMCIM Standards and project execution planning
  • Model set-up and standards review
  • Inter-disciplinary modeling
  • Experience with Department of Transportation Model Development practices, and Federal Digital Delivery guidelines, ISO19650
  • Experience with model development and software solutions

Qualifications Preferred
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Bentley accreditation in OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, and/or ProjectWise
  • Working knowledge of Bentley ProjectWise
  • Working knowledge of LumenRT, Unreal, Unity, Civil 3D, SYNCHRO, iTwin, iTwin Capture, ARVR, AASHTOWare, Transoft Applications, Infraworks, ConceptStation, Bluebeam Revu, Recap, Descartes, and TopoDOT

Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Flexible work location with 10-20% travel required to support local offices.
