The Role and Why It's Important
At Hy-Vee, our Aisles Online program is one of the most important ways we make our customers' lives easier, and the Aisles Online Manager is the person who makes it run. In this role, you'll oversee the planning, staffing, and day-to-day operations of the store's online shopping fulfillment process, ensuring every order is picked, packed, and delivered on time and to the highest standard. You'll lead and develop your team, resolve customer service issues, and continuously look for ways to improve the experience.

What You'll Do
No two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, addressing their needs, and taking any steps necessary to resolve customer service issues
  • Oversee the order fulfillment process from start to finish, continually monitoring incoming online orders to ensure prompt, on-time fulfillment
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and develop department employees to maintain a high-performing, customer-focused team
  • Provide ongoing education to employees regarding new policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Ensure all food safety guidelines are followed and products are kept at proper temperature throughout the fulfillment process
  • Instruct, assign, and review the work of others; coordinate activities and address employee concerns as needed
  • Have authority to recommend employee discipline
  • Answer phones and emails promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers
  • Follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines
  • Pitch in with other tasks or special projects as they come up

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong computer and internet skills required

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas
  • Where applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
  • Where applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment
  • Where applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
  • Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties

Working Environment
This is a fast-moving role with constant pressure to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects throughout your shift. You'll work primarily in a retail store setting and may be exposed to dust, noise, temperature extremes, moving equipment hazards, and electrical equipment. Safety is always a priority, and training is provided to help ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
