Job Summary

Courtyard by Marriott Richmond Berkeley is seeking an experienced, service-oriented Operations Manager to oversee daily hotel operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can effectively manage multiple departments, drive operational excellence, support team development, and maintain Marriott brand standards. 

The Operations Manager will work closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth hotel operations, optimize guest satisfaction, and achieve financial and operational goals.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
  • Oversee daily operations of Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and other hotel departments.
  • Ensure exceptional guest service and prompt resolution of guest concerns.
  • Monitor hotel performance and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with Marriott brand standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
Team Management
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop hotel associates.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and guest-focused workplace culture.
  • Support department managers in achieving operational and service objectives.
Guest Experience
  • Promote a culture centered on hospitality and customer satisfaction.
  • Address guest complaints professionally and effectively.
  • Monitor guest feedback, online reviews, and service metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Financial Performance
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
  • Monitor payroll, labor expenses, and departmental productivity.
  • Support revenue optimization strategies and operational profitability.
  • Analyze operational reports and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and associates.
  • Support risk management and emergency response procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hotel management or operations leadership experience.
  • Marriott brand experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong financial acumen and operational analysis skills.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
