Job description

Attentive Care is a licensed, CHAP-accredited home health care agency providing compassionate in-home support for individuals who want to remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home. Our services include nursing support, personal care, home health aide services, and companion care, with a focus on delivering respectful, dependable care that supports each client's daily needs and overall well-being.

As a PCA or HHA with Attentive Care, you will play an important role in helping clients maintain dignity, comfort, and quality of life in their own homes. This role is centered on building trust, supporting everyday routines, and providing thoughtful, person-centered care that helps clients and their families feel supported during every visit.

We proudly provide services throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, including but not limited to the following communities:

Nassau County

  • East Meadow
  • Hicksville
  • Massapequa
  • Hempstead

Suffolk County

  • Melville
  • Huntington Station
  • Port Jefferson
  • Dix Hills
  • Commack

…and many other surrounding communities throughout Long Island.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care assistance with daily living and hygiene needs.
  • Support clients with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and household tasks.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support during in-home care visits.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and comfortable home environment for clients.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Certified PCA or HHA through a NYSDOH training program.
  • Recent experience working under your certificate within the past 2 years through a licensed agency.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Able to lift or transfer clients weighing an average of 150 lbs, with or without assistance, according to the care plan.
  • Must live within a 25-mile radius of assigned cases in Long Island or Queens, including Suffolk and Nassau counties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate in English and one additional language.
  • Availability to work weekends.
  • Availability to work live-in shifts.
