Job description

General Services Specialist
Location:ย Lakeland, FL (200 N. Kentucky Ave, 33801) โ€“ Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM
Pay Rate:ย $15.50/hour (vendor rate $20.15)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage PPE, DSNAP inventory, warehouse organization, and supply distribution.

  • Maintain state vehicles/ERVs per CFOP 40-2; submit monthly logs.

  • Handle keys/keycards, furniture setup/disposal (per CFOP 80-2), installations (whiteboards, etc.), and internal/external moves.

  • Conduct site inspections, ensure facility safety (AC, lights, etc.), and address issues immediately.

  • Assist IT with equipment moves; transfer surplus IT to Wildwood warehouse.

  • Support Disaster Management for hurricanes (prep/recovery); witness mail destruction; manage trespassers (call 911 if needed).

  • Use dollies for heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs, per CFOP 215-4); arrive prepared with tools.

  • Build site contacts, introduce yourself professionally, and network across regions.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid Florida Driver's License, reliable transportation, clean MVR, and ability to pass Level 2 background check.

  • 1+ year supply/warehouse management.

  • 6+ months fleet vehicle maintenance, heavy lifting/dollies, OSHA/safety regs, facility inspections, IT equipment.

  • Excellent English communication; courteous, independent worker who follows directives.

  • Familiar with Central Florida; GPS-savvy; able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment:ย Fast-paced with varied tasksโ€”expect independence, safety focus, and fun team collaboration. Occasional regional travel in state vehicle (gas/tolls covered).

Compliance Notes:ย Safety-sensitive roleโ€”must consent to random drug testing, provide own safety gear (per ANSI/OSHA), and pass all pre-employment screenings.
