Position Summary
Western Carolina University is looking for qualified part-time (adjunct) faculty to enhance its Emergency and Disaster Management academic program. Minimum qualifications for teaching in the Emergency and Disaster Management program are a doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline). The teaching discipline may include Emergency Management, Public Administration, or Criminal Justice, with specific graduate coursework related to the Emergency Management field. A terminal degree is preferred. These appointments are on a course by course basis. Salary is commensurate with education, experience and discipline. These postings are continuous in order to develop a qualified pool of interested candidates. If your academic area of interest/expertise meets the programmatic needs of WCU at any time, you will be contacted to discuss proposed teaching opportunities. These needs change from semester to semester.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Applicants must be able to work in an online environment for distance education courses.
