Job Title: Universal Banker III
Department: Wilshire Office

We are looking for a Universal Banker III to join our Wilshire Office branch at Open Bank! The Universal Banker III will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while providing a wide range of banking solutions to clients. The Universal Banker III is responsible for managing customer relationships, understanding their financial needs, and offering tailored Bank products and services to enhance their banking experience. This position will also be tasked with processing transactions, opening new accounts, and resolving customer inquiries efficiently. By leveraging their expertise, they will contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the branch. Ultimately, this role aims to foster long-term relationships with customers, ensuring their financial goals are met through personalized banking solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with customers and non-customers to open all types of savings, checking,  and certificate of deposit accounts, based on discovery of the customer needs.
  • Cross sell appropriate Bank products and services of all types.
  • Excellence in product knowledge, sales, and service skills is essential. 
  • Must proactively discover needs and cross-sell the products and services that will appropriately meet those financial needs.
  • Opens, closes, and renews all types of savings, certificate of deposit and checking products.
  • Provides exceptional service in handling clients in person or on the telephone.
  • Engage with customers to assess their banking needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Process various banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan applications.
  • Open and maintain customer accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and issues promptly, providing a high level of service.
  • Collaborate with branch staff to achieve branch goals and enhance customer satisfaction.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an operation specialist in bank operations required.
  • Retail sales and service experience, including cash handling is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of computers, related business programs and online banking systems.
  • Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or client complaints.   
  • Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet software applications, core banking process systems, e-mail and on-line banking programs.
  • Good analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.  
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 
  • Be able to handle large amounts of cash.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
