North Carolina Central University (NCCU is a Historically Black College or University (HBCU)
with a mission to prepare students to succeed in the global marketplace. We are consistently
ranked as a top HBCU in the South by U.S News & World Report. NCCU Business is a flagship
program with majors in Accounting, Business Management ( Finance, Human Resources,
Marketing, Management, Real Estate, and Entrepreneurship) Computer Information Systems,
Information Technology (Data Analytics, Cyber Security, and Information Communications
Technology), and Hospitality & Tourism Administration. We offer BBA and MBA degrees
within the School of Business. Our Program is accredited by AACSB (Association to Advanced
Collegiate Schools of Business), considered the gold standard. NCCU'S School of Business has
an enrollment of over 1,200 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs. The
Department of Accounting has an enrollment of approximately 85 undergraduate students.

Primary Purpose of Position
The School of Business at North Carolina Central University seeks highly qualified
applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track position of Assistant/Associate Professor of
Accounting in the Department of Accounting. Selected candidate must include an
earned Ph.D. in Business with a Major in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited
institution and demonstrated potential for quality teaching and research. ABD
candidates from AACSB-accredited universities may be considered at the instructor
level. Candidates with teaching interests in accounting systems/data analytics and tax.
Candidates with experience using SAP are preferred. Instructional duties include teaching,
curriculum development, and participation in the program's assurance of learning efforts,
and may consist of online instruction. In addition to instructional responsibilities, faculty
members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate
in service activities. Quality productivity in academic research is expectedExhibit a desire
to teach at the undergraduate level, but may also be required to teach graduate courses.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The requirements for this position must include an earned Ph.D. in Business with a

may be considered at the instructor level, but the Assistant Professor position requires
completing all doctoral requirements by August 1, 2026. Preference will be given to
candidates with relevant teaching and professional business experience with
professional certification(s). We invite candidates with teaching interests in accounting systems/data analytics and tax. Candidates with experience using SAP are preferred.
