GFT Infrastructure is seeking a Designer to join our Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics Team in Fort Worth, TX or Houston, TX! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of our Texas offices.
 
GFT Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics Team

Joining the dams and hydraulics team at GFT means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. What you’ll be challenged to do:

Seeking an H&H Designer with 0 to 4 years of experience for our Fort Worth or Houston office. This position will assist in the planning, design, and production of H&H, land development and transportation projects, working as part of a design team under the direct supervision of a PE. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has experience in roadway, drainage design, and utility design.

 
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 
  • Assisting in the development of drainage impact studies
  • Helping to prepare drainage construction plans and specifications
  • Compiling watershed drainage studies, master plans and engineering reports
  • Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
  • Coordinate with other team members and consultants
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • EIT license in the State of Texas or ability to obtain in 6 months
  • 0-4 years of experience in H & H
  • Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Self-motivated and collaborate well with others
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of H&H software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM and ArcGIS. (Infoworks ICM knowledge is a plus)
 
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $72,000 - $100,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
