Temporary Hydraulic Hose Jobs (NOW HIRING)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:             Warehouse Person

Reports to:         Parts Supervisor

FLSA Status:       Non-exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Parts Supervisor, the Warehouse Person fills parts orders, stocks incoming parts, makes hoses, and performs other warehouse duties as directed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Fills parts orders from stock and delivers them to the designated in-house area.
2. Stocks incoming parts shipments and customer returns. Notes discrepancies on the appropriate receiving document.
3. Ensures that all items leaving the warehouse are recorded on parts documents or other control documents and are signed by the authorized person.
4. Counts inventory as required.
5. Loads and unloads trucks and containers.
6. Operates material handling equipment.
7. Makes occasional pickups and deliveries using the company vehicle.
8. Ensures that all parts are clearly identified and adequately protected against rust.
9. Makes Hydraulic Hose Assemblies:
   • Disassembles and assembles reusable fittings onto hydraulic hoses per Caterpillar specifications.
   • Assembles permanent fittings onto hydraulic hoses per Caterpillar specifications and ensures that each crimped fitting is checked within Caterpillar specifications.
   • Identifies foreign fittings and crosses them over to Caterpillar fittings.
   • Converts Non-Caterpillar hose assemblies to Caterpillar Hydraulic Hoses with the correct operating specifications of the equipment it is used on.
   • Invoices hose customers on the computer for all fittings and hoses made and includes the proper labor charge.
   • Advises the warehouse supervisor of any problems or of any ideas to improve customer service.
10. Adheres strictly to all company safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
11. Assists in maintaining stringent security controls in the warehouse and surrounding areas.
12. Performs daily warehouse cleanup duties and assists in maintaining the highest housekeeping standards.
13. Reports all matters of managerial importance to the immediate supervisor.
14. Performs other warehouse and parts department duties as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.
2. Must have PC skills.
3. Must be forklift certified or able to be certified within 60 days of hire.
4. Must have an understanding of warehouse duties.
5. Must have a complete understanding of shipping and receiving procedures.
6. Must have a complete understanding of freight recovery procedures.
7. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Walking: Moves about on foot, often through uneven terrain.
2. Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.
3. Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts.
4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
6. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
7. Climbing: In and out of equipment.
8. Vision: Reads work tickets and parts books.
9. Talking: Communicates by radio, phone, and in person.
10. Sitting: Sits in equipment or in vehicle for extended periods.
11. Lifting: Lifts up to 60lbs. daily, frequent exertion.

ENVIRONMENTAL:          

1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
2. Temp/Weather: Works in a warehouse and outside with variations of temperature and weather.
3. Exposure: Subject to foul odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
