Job description

OBJECTIVE: Properly assist One Call Away In-Home Services LLC clients with personal care tasks as authorized on their Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services care plan.  Ensuring the continuity, consistency and quality of care provided meets the guidelines set forth by One Call Away In-Home Services LLC, the Missouri Department of Social Services and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.  

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Ø  High school diploma or GED  

Ø  At least 18 years old 

Ø  Have reliable transportation

Ø  Be compassionate, mature, sympathetic and professional at all 

Ø  Good organization and communication skills  

Ø  Ability to read, write, comprehend and carry out written and verbal directions. 

Ø  Successfully complete required pre‐employment background screenings

Ø  Have the physical ability to perform job‐related duties, which may require lifting, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing and pulling

Ø  Must have at least six (6) months of verifiable paid work experience as an agency homemaker, nurse aide, maid or household worker, or at least one (1) year of experience in caring for children or for sick or aged individuals. Successful completion of formal training in the nursing arts, such as a nursing aide or home health aide, may be substituted for the qualifying experience   

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Assists clients in the following areas as outlined on their authorized care plan

Ø  Plan, prepare, and clean-up meals

Ø  Make beds and change sheets with the client in or out of bed

Ø  Brushing, combing and shampooing hair

Ø  Give bed baths and/or assist with other bath/shower

Ø  Assist with toileting tasks as required by client

Ø  Brush teeth and/or clean dentures

Ø  Assist client with transfers to and from the bed to wheelchair, walker or chair (when client is weight bearing)

Ø  Assist client with ordinarily self-administered medications (open bottles, get water)

Ø  Shop for groceries or household items that are specifically required for the health and maintenance of the client

Ø  Apply non-prescription topical ointments/lotions to unbroken skin at the client’s direction

Ø  General light housekeeping tasks including laundry, clean kitchen, clean bathroom, empty trash (only as outlined on client’s authorized care plan)

Ø  Maintain confidentiality of all clients, family members, staff and client documentation
