Job description

Job Title: OnCore Analyst II Sponsored Research Location: Pittsburgh, PA Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote

Overview Under the direction of the Senior OnCore Administrator, this technical position contributes to the configuration, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of UPMC’s Clinical Trial Management System (OnCore) and related ancillary platforms. As an integral member of the OnCore team, the role blends technical expertise with collaborative engagement to ensure system integrity, enhance user experience, and support the evolving needs of clinical research. Please note that this position is in-office three days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the configuration, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of UPMC’s Clinical Trial Management System (OnCore) and related platforms.
  • Build and configure system applications tailored to operational and research needs.
  • Complete initial setup and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support ongoing system enhancements and integrations.
  • Monitor system outputs to detect errors and maintain data integrity.
  • Perform data entry, collection, cleaning, and query resolution.
  • Evaluate upgrade impacts and contribute to platform improvement strategies.
  • Assist with OnCore functionality and usability improvements.
  • Support help desk operations for issue resolution and user inquiries.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders including Finance, Clinical Research, Health System, Project Managers, Vendors, and Consultants.
  • Ensure deadlines, goals, and schedules are met efficiently.
  • Develop, maintain, and update reports to support data analysis, operational workflows, and research reporting needs.
  • Additional Duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of OnCore CTMS backend/build experience is required.
  • Experience in tableau, jasper, sql, or equivalent systems required.
  • Experience in clinical trial or research-related fields required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience providing technical support to customers.
  • Software implementation experience preferred.
