Job Description
Role Summary
The Product Compliance Program Manager supports execution of product compliance and certification activities to enable product launches across Bose direct sales regions.
This role defines and maintains baseline certification plans and templates, with the Contract Manufacturer (CM) responsible for maintaining ongoing schedule updates. The PM proactively identifies compliance timing gaps and risks and works with program teams and CMs to resolve them.
The role operates at the intersection of engineering, compliance, legal, and sales, acting as a central coordinator to ensure compliance activities are executed efficiently and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Certification & Registration Execution
• Coordinate product certification and registration activities across direct sales regions
• Define baseline certification plans and templates for programs
• Ensure CM-owned schedules are aligned to certification requirements
• Track submission status, approvals, renewals, and required actions
• Ensure required documentation packages are complete and ready for submission
• Highlight risks to certification timing and escalate as needed
2. Cross-Functional Coordination
• Serve as the primary point of coordination for certification-related activities across Engineering, Compliance (Safety, Materials, EMC, Cybersecurity, etc.)
• Align stakeholders on required inputs, timelines, and deliverables
• Work with teams to resolve gaps between program timelines and compliance requirements
3. Documentation & Process Support
• Maintain and organize compliance documentation (certificates, test reports, submissions, approvals)
• Support development and maintenance of standardized certification processes and templates
• Support improvements to documentation, knowledge sharing, and process clarity
4. Tracking & Reporting
• Maintain tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheet or equivalent) for certification status, regional approvals, open issues and risks
• Provide regular status updates and highlight risks to compliance or launch timelines
• Leverage tools (including AI where appropriate) to monitor changes in certification schedules and improve visibility into updates and risks
5. Continuous Improvement
• Identify inefficiencies or recurring issues in certification workflows
• Support implementation of streamlined processes and clearer execution models
• Contribute to training materials and onboarding for stakeholders involved in compliance
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
• 1+ years of experience in program coordination, product development, or related roles from internships/co-op experiences
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders
• Clear and structured communication skills
• Comfort working across technical and non-technical teams
• Strong attention to detail in documentation and tracking
• Ability to operate within defined processes and escalate gaps or risks appropriately
Preferred Skills
• Experience with product certification or regulatory environments
• Familiarity with compliance tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence)
• Exposure to global product development or launch processes
• Familiarity with leveraging digital tools (e.g., AI-enabled tools, data tracking, or automation) to improve visibility, tracking, and efficiency in program execution
Success Profile
A successful candidate will:
• Keep certification activities organized, visible, and on track
• Proactively surface timing risks and gaps between compliance and program schedules, and escalate early when issues cannot be resolved within defined processes
• Enable smooth and predictable product approvals across regions
• Reduce dependency on senior SMEs for coordination work
