Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Wastewater Level A Operator for a full-time, on-site opportunity in Millsboro, Delaware. This is a senior-level wastewater operations position requiring a Level III Wastewater Operator License, extensive hands-on treatment-system experience, and at least two years serving in Direct Responsible Charge (DRC).
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Wastewater Level A Operator will assist in controlling the overall environmental compliance program for the water treatment system while maintaining responsibility for day-to-day wastewater operations, equipment maintenance, process-control laboratory work, monitoring, sampling, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
This position requires a strong understanding of overall treatment operations and the ability to independently address operational and mechanical issues. The successful candidate must be capable of rebuilding pumps and treatment equipment, maintaining preventive maintenance schedules, responding to repairs, and supporting compliance with federal, state, and local environmental requirements.
The Level A Operator must also bring at least two years of Direct Responsible Charge experience within a Class II or higher wastewater facility, demonstrating direct accountability for treatment operations and regulatory performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in controlling the overall environmental compliance program for the water treatment system
Provide operational leadership for wastewater treatment activities
Operate and maintain wastewater and water treatment systems
Monitor treatment processes and make appropriate operational adjustments
Maintain required monitoring and sampling activities
Oversee and document sample results required by federal, state, and local regulations
Perform process-control laboratory work
Maintain accurate compliance records and regulatory documentation
Prepare and support required environmental reporting
Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for wastewater equipment
Respond to equipment failures and required repairs
Rebuild pumps and wastewater process equipment
Perform mechanical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis
Maintain treatment equipment to support reliable facility operations
Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Follow Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements
Follow PPE and all applicable workplace safety requirements
Prevent and report unsafe acts and conditions
Support continued compliance with applicable wastewater regulations
DIRECT RESPONSIBLE CHARGE
This position requires demonstrated Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) experience. Candidates must have served for at least two years in a position involving day-to-day operational responsibility and accountability for the operation of a Class II or higher wastewater treatment facility.

Ability to Measure, Cut, and Miter Materials Accurately REQUIRED
Drywall Installation, Taping, Mudding, Sanding, and Finishing Experience REQUIRED
Ability to Safely Operate Power Tools and Table Saws REQUIRED
Valid Driver's License REQUIRED
Clean Driving Record REQUIRED
Working Knowledge of General Construction Means and Methods REQUIRED
Ability to Troubleshoot and Solve Practical Jobsite Problems REQUIRED
Ability to Participate in an Emergency Board-Up / On-Call Rotation REQUIRED
Ability to Travel to Regional Jobsites REQUIRED
Ability to Work Safely on Damaged, Uneven, or Debris-Covered Jobsites REQUIRED
Ability to Occasionally Lift and/or Move Up to 50 Pounds REQUIRED

IICRC Training or Certifications Preferred

TRADE SKILLS: Strong candidates will have hands-on experience with finish carpentry, door hanging, trim, base and casing installation, accurate miter cuts, drywall installation and finishing, painting, and repair work performed in occupied residential or commercial environments.
RESTORATION EXPERIENCE: Previous fire, water, wind, or structural-damage restoration experience is highly valuable. Candidates from residential or commercial carpentry, remodeling, construction, or other closely related backgrounds may also be considered when they can demonstrate strong hands-on carpentry and drywall skills.
