POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Part-Time Overnight On-Call Coordinator - North Region to join our coordination team. This position is responsible for providing overnight staffing and operational support to ensure appropriate caregiver coverage and continuity of care for our clients.
The Overnight On-Call Coordinator will serve as a primary point of contact during overnight hours, responding to caregiver callouts, staffing changes, client and caregiver concerns, and other urgent matters that arise during the scheduled shift. The coordinator is expected to remain actively engaged and available throughout the entire scheduled shift and respond promptly to calls, messages, and staffing needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide overnight on-call staffing support for the North Region.
  • Monitor and respond to caregiver callouts, late arrivals, schedule changes, and coverage needs.
  • Identify and secure appropriate replacement staff to maintain continuity of patient care.
  • Communicate with caregivers, clients, families, and internal staff regarding overnight staffing needs and changes.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple staffing issues simultaneously in a fast-paced overnight environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of callouts, coverage efforts, client concerns, incidents, and schedule changes.
  • Escalate urgent client, caregiver, staffing, or operational concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Monitor scheduled cases and proactively address potential coverage issues.
  • Follow established company procedures for emergency situations, staffing escalations, and after-hours communication.
  • Ensure all overnight staffing changes and relevant information are accurately communicated to the daytime coordination team for follow-up.
  • Complete required documentation and system updates related to overnight staffing activity.
  • Maintain professional and timely communication with caregivers, clients, families, and internal departments.
  • Remain actively engaged and available throughout all scheduled overnight hours, rather than simply being available on a passive or standby basis.
  • Respond promptly to incoming calls, messages, callouts, and staffing needs throughout the scheduled shift.
  • Efficiently manage time, prioritize urgent matters, and make sound decisions independently during overnight hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a home care or healthcare setting, preferably in staffing, scheduling, or coordination.
  • Familiarity with NYS DOH Home Care operations are preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in urgent situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision during overnight hours.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple calls, staffing needs, and competing priorities.
  • Customer service-focused approach.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to consistently work the assigned overnight schedule.
  • Comfortable using computer systems, scheduling platforms, email, and other communication tools.
SCHEDULE:
Part-Time Overnight Schedule
  • Monday: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
  • Tuesday: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
  • Wednesday: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
  • Every Other Thursday: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
The position is scheduled for 24 hours during weeks without a Thursday shift and 32 hours during weeks with a Thursday shift.
This is an overnight on-call position. The employee is expected to remain actively engaged, responsive, and available throughout the entire scheduled shift to address staffing needs, caregiver callouts, client concerns, and other after-hours matters. The position is not intended to be a passive or inactive on-call arrangement.
