Job description

Weekend On-Call Coordinator (Home Healthcare)
Pay: $85–$105 per day while assigned on-call
Position Type: Part-Time | Weekend On-Call, must be located in Sarasota/Bradenton or surrounding areas
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, organized, and professional Weekend On-Call Coordinator to support our Home Healthcare team during designated weekends. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for caregivers, clients, family members, and guardians outside of normal business hours.
The Weekend On-Call Coordinator is responsible for managing staffing issues, caregiver call-outs, scheduling adjustments, client concerns, and weekend communications while ensuring continuity of care and operations.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in home healthcare, scheduling, staffing coordination, or office administration.

Schedule
  • Assigned two weekends per month when the month contains four weekends.
  • Assigned a rotation of three weekends per month when the month contains five weekends on a rotation with another On-Call Weekend Coordinator.
  • On-call coverage begins following the Friday office recap meeting at 5pm and concludes Monday morning at 9am.
  • Must be available by phone/text throughout assigned weekends.
Friday Office Meeting
When assigned weekend coverage, the On-Call Coordinator will attend the Friday office meeting to:
  • Receive updates regarding clients and caregivers
  • Review staffing concerns and schedule changes
  • Discuss ongoing issues requiring follow-up
  • Receive the company-issued iPhone used for weekend coverage
Weekend Responsibilities
During assigned weekends, the On-Call Coordinator will:
  • Carry and monitor the company-issued iPhone at all times
  • Respond promptly to calls, texts, and voicemail messages
  • Manage caregiver call-outs and staffing shortages
  • Coordinate schedule changes and shift coverage
  • Utilize WellSky to review schedules, staffing needs, and client information
  • Address client, caregiver, family, and guardian concerns professionally
  • Review morning and evening reports submitted by caregivers at 7am, 8am, 6:30pm, 7pm, and 8pm
  • Ensure required communications and documentation are completed appropriately
  • Escalate urgent situations when necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client and company information
Weekend Documentation
The On-Call Coordinator is required to maintain detailed notes throughout the weekend.
Documentation may include:
  • Staffing issues and call-outs
  • Schedule changes
  • Client concerns
  • Family or guardian communications
  • Incidents or unusual occurrences
  • Follow-up items for office staff

  • Attend the meeting in person
  • Present completed weekend notes for review
Weekend notes must be submitted via email. Office staff may follow up with questions regarding weekend events as needed.

Emergency Shift Coverage
The primary responsibility of the Weekend On-Call Coordinator is to coordinate staffing and secure coverage for open shifts that occur during assigned weekends.
In the event of a last-minute call-out or staffing emergency where coverage cannot be secured despite reasonable efforts, the Weekend On-Call Coordinator may be required to provide temporary client coverage until a caregiver can be arranged.
While this is expected to be an uncommon occurrence, applicants must be willing and able to report to a client's home when necessary to ensure continuity of care and client safety. We will never require hands on care, rather needing applicant to sit with client while office team assists in locating replacement staff and will continue working to secure coverage as quickly as possible.
