Job description

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to support a large-scale enterprise modernization initiative within a secure Department of Defense environment. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining ServiceNow solutions that support IT service management, telecommunications operations, order management, and infrastructure management processes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ServiceNow development, Discovery, CMDB, and telecommunications-focused ServiceNow modules, along with the ability to work closely with technical teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Configure, develop, and support ServiceNow platform functionality and applications.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of ServiceNow ITSM, TSOM, TSM, OMT, Discovery, and CMDB capabilities.
  • Design and build workflows, forms, service catalogs, reports, dashboards, groups, roles, and views.
  • Create and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise tools such as Elastic, Netcool, Kafka, and related platforms.
  • Coordinate and support ServiceNow platform and application upgrades.
  • Develop and document business process workflows and automation solutions.
  • Support migration of ticketing, order management, and operational processes into ServiceNow.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform, application, and integration issues.
  • Orchestrate and automate operational tasks using ServiceNow capabilities.
  • Design and implement custom ServiceNow applications and integrations using platform best practices.
  • Support data migration efforts and ensure data integrity throughout the platform.
  • Integrate multiple data sources into a unified CMDB while maintaining data quality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Apply UI/UX requirements to improve the end-user experience.
  • Follow coding standards, documentation practices, configuration management policies, and development methodologies.
  • Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends and improve customer experience and network performance.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers.
Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one if eligible and local to a supported site.
  • Current Security+ certification that meets DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements, or ability to obtain certification within 14 days of employment.
  • 4+ years of ServiceNow development experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working with ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB.
  • Experience supporting ServiceNow upgrades and platform enhancements.
  • Experience with Order Management Telecommunications (OMT) and Telecommunications Network Inventory (TNI) modules.
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow ITSM processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, and Service Catalog management.
  • Experience with JavaScript, scripting, and ServiceNow development best practices.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers, stakeholders, and leadership teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and collaborating across development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification.
  • ServiceNow certifications related to ITSM, CMDB, Discovery, TSOM, or Telecommunications Management.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent ITIL experience.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban methodologies.
  • Experience using JIRA, Git, and Confluence.
  • Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and test-driven development.
  • AWS Cloud experience and certifications.
  • Experience supporting large-scale software modernization and migration efforts.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams and enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications-focused ServiceNow applications including TSM, TSOM, OMT, and TNI.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field and 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Additional relevant experience may be substituted for formal education.

  • Full-time onsite position.
