As an important member of our Quality team, the Finished Goods Inspector 1 supports Quality and Manufacturing operations by ensuring our finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications. To this end, the Inspector will perform visual inspections, identify and report on non-conformance, and support root cause analysis of the non-conformance of our products and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality Inspection
  1. Inspect finished products prior to shipment against drawings and engineering specifications.
  2. Inspect equipment to ensure that all components adhere to unique customer specifications.
  3. Report all non-conformities to Quality Inspection Supervisor, Quality Engineering and Production supervisor.
  4. Assist in root cause analysis investigations and corrective actions for nonconformance.
  5. Post and record all findings from final inspection log.
  6. Work with the Quality Inspection Supervisor, Production team and Engineering to resolve assembly, and engineering issues.
  7. Perform Quality review for completeness and correctness of inspection results and/or production records.
  8. Work upstream with assembly operations to ensure knowledge of how defects are being created and work with internal team to mitigate /eliminate these defects.
  9. Support QE's with identification and clarification of key product and process characteristics.

Management Systems
  1. Support operations to improve material flow, information flow, and product flow.
  2. Work closely with Quality Inspection Supervisor, Manufacturing, Applications, Design Engineering, and others on the Quality team to continually improve processes.
  3. Support relevant department goals and objectives including environmental goals and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - The responsibilities listed below are representative, but not all inclusive of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to satisfactorily and successfully perform the essential duties of this position. Basic Qualifications
  1. A two-year technical degree or the equivalent training and certifications.
  2. Two years of relevant experience in high-tech electronics manufacturing with specific experience in quality control inspection.
  3. Documented ability to understand and follow technical instructions drafted in English for testing or repairing electronic equipment.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work with delicate technical components in a manner that promotes safety and results in a high-quality product.
  5. Proven competence in operating DMM's, power supplies, hand tools, and various test equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deal effectively with conflicting priorities.
  2. Documented task and time management skills.
  3. Demonstrated ability to learn advanced inspection skills so as to support the Receiving Inspectors.

Physical Requirements: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is often required to talk, hear at normal speaking levels, sit and use their hands and fingers to write, type, and assemble small-form electronics, including repetitive motions with the wrists, hands and fingers. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands, this position involves sitting and standing for large portions of the work day. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for extensive computer use, reading and visual inspections. This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis.
Environmental Factors: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
