Work at Omron!

Omron Robotics and Safety Technologies, Inc. (ORT) is a leading provider of intelligent robotics solutions for factory automation and intralogistics applications. ORT is a subsidiary of Omron Corporation, a $5B global automation company with operations in more than 40 countries worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Marketing Communications Specialist to further strengthen ORT's market presence, customer engagement, sales enablement, and demand generation activities globally.

This position reports to the Vice President, Product Management, Marketing, and Business Development. The role will be based at our global robotics headquarters in Pleasanton, California. We are also open to remote candidates.

Primary Responsibility:

The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing the content, communications, and promotional programs that support ORT's global growth objectives.

The role serves as a central marketing communications resource for the organization, translating product strategy, customer value propositions, technical capabilities, and market insights into compelling customer-facing communications that increase awareness, generate demand, and support commercial success across all regions.

Working closely with Product Management, Digital Marketing, Regional Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and global OMRON stakeholders, the Marketing Communications Specialist develops and maintains the messaging, content, and communications assets that support ORT's autonomous mobile robots, collaborative robots, industrial fixed robots, software platforms, and emerging automation solutions.

This role works in very close partnership with ORT's Digital Marketing Specialist. While ownership of digital channel strategy, website management, social media execution, campaign automation, and digital analytics resides with the Digital Marketing Specialist, the Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for creating the messaging, content, creative assets, and communications programs that power those channels.

The Marketing Communications Specialist is expected to continually evaluate communication effectiveness, content performance, campaign execution, and market feedback to improve the quality, consistency, and impact of ORT's marketing activities globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop customer-facing marketing communications that support product launches, strategic initiatives, regional growth programs, and commercial objectives.
  • Own the creation of brochures, application stories, customer success stories, white papers, videos, presentations, infographics, sales enablement materials, email content, and other marketing communications assets.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into compelling customer-focused messages that clearly communicate business value.
  • Maintain consistency of messaging, positioning, branding, and voice across all ORT communications globally.
  • Support product lifecycle communications including new product introductions, product updates, migration messaging, and product discontinuance communications.

Campaign & Digital Content Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the Digital Marketing Specialist to develop content supporting web, social media, email marketing, paid advertising, demand generation campaigns, and promotional activities.
  • Coordinate content calendars, campaign messaging, creative asset development, and launch communications across functional teams.
  • Ensure marketing communications content is optimized for use across traditional and digital marketing channels.
  • Align global ORT communications initiatives with broader OMRON marketing campaigns and regional marketing activities where appropriate.
  • Leverage market feedback, competitive insights, campaign performance data, and stakeholder input to improve communications effectiveness.

Public Relations & Executive Communications

  • Support development of press releases, media materials, executive communications, speaking engagements, thought leadership articles, and partner communications.
  • Assist senior leadership with customer-facing and public-facing communications.
  • Coordinate messaging support for strategic partnerships, business announcements, and market-facing initiatives.
  • Ensure external communications accurately reflect ORT's strategy, capabilities, and brand positioning.

Events & Industry Engagement

  • Lead communications planning and content creation for trade shows, customer events, webinars, partner activities, and industry conferences.
  • Develop event messaging, promotional materials, booth content, presentations, demonstrations, and post-event communications.
  • Coordinate external vendors, agencies, designers, video providers, and production partners as required.

Marketing Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Track the effectiveness of communications programs and marketing initiatives using established KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Support development and maintenance of marketing dashboards and reports.
  • Work closely with Finance to maintain and monitor the annual budget and related forecasting for marketing communication initiatives.
  • Analyze campaign performance, content engagement, customer feedback, and industry trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assess communications workflows, content development processes, and vendor relationships to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Document and maintain repeatable communications processes and best practices that support global execution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in marketing communications, content marketing, public relations, demand generation, or related B2B marketing roles.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing customer-facing marketing communications programs.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Engineering, and external agencies.
  • Experience supporting industrial technology, automation, robotics, manufacturing, or other technical B2B markets is preferred.

What We Need to See:

  • Strong ownership mindset with a bias toward action and execution.
  • Exceptional written, editing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
  • Graphic design skills with proven experience developing strategy, content, and layout in Adobe platforms such as Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Technical Support, and regional teams.
  • Ability to use data and market feedback to improve communications effectiveness and campaign performance.
  • Knowledge of marketing communications best practices across traditional and digital channels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with CRM, analytics, or marketing automation platforms.

Ways to Stand Out:

  • Background in robotics, automation, intralogistics, machine vision, industrial controls, or complex engineered products.
  • Experience supporting product launches, product lifecycle communications, and product discontinuance activities.
  • Demonstrated success developing content across both traditional and digital marketing channels.
  • Experience coordinating trade shows, customer events, webinars, media relations, or executive communications.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Power BI, marketing automation platforms, content management systems, and digital analytics tools.
  • Portfolio examples demonstrating strong technical storytelling and customer-focused content development.

The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 - $115,000 a year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus program. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
