Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Olympic as our new FT Olympic Bar Seasonal Server! The Olympic Bar is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full-Time Seasonal Server to join our dynamic team and assist our guests during service. If you are eager to deliver exceptional service and be part of the Fairmont experience, we would love to hear from you! This is a seasonal position with a tentative end date of January 5th, 2027. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Familiar with all menus including wine and beverage lists
  • Resets dining room according to meal period and table needs
  • Performs restaurant service preparation duties such as preparing condiments, polishing glassware and silver ware, brewing coffee and ensuring work stations are stocked
  • Informs and promotes guests of daily/nightly specials
  • Offers creative selling of products to guests
  • Answers questions and/or makes recommendations on menus items
  • Explains how various menu items are prepared, describing cooking methods and ingredients
  • Takes into consideration any special request, dietary issues made by the guests
  • Describes and recommends wine pairings to guests
  • Brings wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses and pours the wine for guests
  • Ensures final quality check on food and beverage prior to serving guests
  • Clear, clean, reset, and maintain station during shift
  • Provides general hotel information for guests
  • Serves food and beverages to guests and adheres to the steps of service
  • Follows all proper credit card and cash handling procedures
  • Addresses any guest issue promptly and with concern
  • Provides assistance to restaurant staff as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

What will you bring to this role?

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least two years high volume restaurant serving experience preferred
  • Luxury dining experience preferred
  • General knowledge of Alcoholic beverages
  • Working knowledge of wine & wine-pairings; Advanced knowledge preferred

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height
