Office Assistant (Typing)

Job Description and Duties

The CDSS Community Care Licensing Division is currently accepting applications for an Office Assistant (Typing) for the Orange County Child Care Regional Office. Under the supervision of the Office Services Supervisor II (OSS II), the Office Assistant (Typing) performs general clerical support functions: provide efficient & timely license processing services, typing general correspondence & other types of materials. Maintaining facility & licensing files, processing mail, answering telephone & routine inquiries, supplying general information about licensing requirements, operating various types of office equipment, and other clerical duties as required. Candidates will be required to provide a copy of their valid Typing Certificate at time of hire. State departments will honor typing certificates issued within the last four years and certified from a five (5) minute typing test that meets the CalHR requirements, with a minimum of 40 WPM (words per minute). Typing certification must be 5 minutes in length and proctored either virtually or in person.

The Department of Social Services does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment.
