Job description

The Town of Algoma has a population of ~7,000 and is conveniently located along Highways 41 and 21. The town is the City of Oshkosh’s western border and Lake Butte des Morts serves as the town’s northern border and public landing with fishing pier provides access to nearby Fox River and Lake Winnebago. Primarily residential and agricultural in composition, the town offers recreational opportunities with community parks and recreation areas. With the town’s close proximity to Oshkosh, residents can enjoy quieter living with access to large city amenities including outstanding public and private schools, churches of most denominations, excellent medical facilities, a wide range of services, shopping and a wide variety of restaurants.

The Office Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient operation of the Town of Algoma’s municipal office. This position works closely with residents and staff to ensure efficient office operations by performing a variety of customer service, data entry, records management, and general office tasks. This position is also responsible for opening and closing the office, ensuring that daily operations begin and end smoothly and securely. The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time non-exempt position with health and retirement (WRS) benefits. Pay range is $17.00-$20.00 per hour DOQ. Position Reports to Town Clerk/Treasurer. For full details, please refer to the job description available on the Town’s website.
