Job description

LaRiviere Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Construction Office Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Rathdrum, Idaho.
This position plays a key role in supporting the company's accounting operations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and working collaboratively across departments.
This position offers the opportunity to grow within the organization by learning multiple areas of the accounting department and serving as a backup for several critical financial functions.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record journal entries, including prepaid expenses, depreciation, and other recurring monthly entries.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
  • Perform job cost and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Process progress billings for multiple projects.
  • Process subcontractor payments.
  • Assist with sales and use tax reporting and other regulatory filings.
  • Support warranty accounting and other project-related accounting activities.
  • Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist with financial reporting and special accounting projects.
  • Support internal controls and process improvement initiatives.
  • Cross-train to provide backup support for payroll and accounts payable.
  • Collaborate with project managers, operations, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a Construction Accountant or similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Excellent knowledge of multi state sales tax
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field preferred
