Job Description

As a Director of Logistics at SIXT, you will lead the Logistics and Impound Recovery teams responsible for coordinating vehicle transportation and recovering impounded rental vehicles across North America. You will oversee operations with an annual transportation spend exceeding $10 million while driving process improvements, vendor performance, and cost optimization. Working closely with Fleet Strategy, Operations, Procurement, Accounting, and Executive Leadership, you'll ensure our premium fleet moves efficiently and cost-effectively while developing a high-performing team dedicated to operational excellence.

Your Role at SIXT

  • Lead the Logistics and Impound Recovery departments, ensuring prompt, efficient, and cost-effective transportation and recovery of rental vehicles across North America.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase transaction speed, reduce transportation costs, improve compliance, and optimize operational performance.
  • Manage strategic relationships with transportation carriers, tow companies, roadside assistance providers, and other logistics vendors while monitoring service levels and performance.
  • Develop executive reporting, dashboards, and presentations that provide leadership with visibility into operational metrics, transportation costs, vendor performance, and departmental KPIs.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Fleet Strategy, Operations, Procurement, Accounting, Controlling, and Executive Leadership to support business objectives and improve fleet availability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8-12 employees, including 2-3 direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the car rental industry, fleet management, transportation logistics, or a related operational environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Experience managing third-party transportation providers, negotiating vendor contracts, optimizing transportation costs, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong cross-functional partnerships.
