Job description

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking caring and dependable Program Assistants to provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in residential programs throughout Ocean County. This position plays an important role in helping individuals maintain independence, participate in their communities, and achieve personal goals while receiving support in a safe and welcoming home environment.

We are currently hiring for both full-time and part-time opportunities across multiple residential locations throughout Ocean County.

Position Details
  • Employment Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available
  • Schedule: Evening Shift | 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Weekend availability required
  • Pay Range: $20.70 - $24.70 per hour
  • Bi-weekly pay schedule
  • Shift differential and overtime opportunities available
Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and supervision within community-based residential programs, including group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living settings.
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, medication administration, housekeeping, and laundry.
  • Support residents in achieving greater independence and meeting individualized goals and objectives.
  • Encourage participation in community activities, recreational opportunities, and social engagement.
  • Monitor the health, safety, and well-being of individuals while providing person-centered support.
  • Complete electronic documentation, daily notes, medication records, and other required program reports accurately and on time.
  • Assist with transportation to appointments, recreational activities, and community outings using agency vehicles when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and supportive home environment.
  • Collaborate with coworkers, supervisors, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality care and consistent support.

  • Must successfully complete all required background checks, screenings, and agency onboarding requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment, professionalism, and flexibility.
