The Arc of Ocean County is looking for enthusiastic, dependable Part-Time Recreation Assistants to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities enjoy meaningful activities, explore their interests, build friendships, and participate more fully in their communities.

From community outings and fitness activities to dances, seasonal events, and creative programs, you’ll help turn everyday experiences into opportunities for connection and independence. If you enjoy working with people and want a flexible role where your time makes a difference, this could be a great fit.

Position at a Glance

Employment Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Flexible evening and weekend hours based on program needs
Weekend Availability: Weekend daytime availability required

We’re looking for individuals who are dependable, outgoing, and motivated to create positive experiences for others.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Demonstrated employment stability, including at least one (1) year with a previous employer preferred.
