  • JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
    • Job Summary:
      • The Patient Observer provides continuous, direct visual monitoring of patients who require ongoing observation to ensure their safety and prevent harm. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Observer maintains constant observation of assigned patient(s), supports a safe and therapeutic environment, and promptly reports any changes in patient condition, behavior, or safety risks.
        This role plays a critical part in harm prevention by identifying and responding to behaviors that may place the patient or others at risk. The Patient Observer supports patient dignity, privacy, and emotional well-being while ensuring adherence to hospital policies, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
    • Education:
      • Position requires a high school diploma or GED.
    • Registration/Certification/Licensure:
      • CPR Certification Required within 30 days of hire
      • CIT (Crisis Intervention Training) 8 - hour class within 3 months of hire
    • Experience:
      • Position requires 0-6 months of related experience.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
