Job description

Surveillance Observer

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform a variety of surveillance activities to assist in ensuring the safety and well being of guests, associates and Lake of the Torches Resort Casino properties. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Monitors, observes, documents and reports any violations of the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino operational procedures, criminal or civil statues, Lac du Flambeau Tribal/State gaming compacts, property, tribal or state internal controls, tribal gaming commission regulations or ordinances.
  • Is responsible for ensuring that all surveillance systems are operational and functioning and issues repair orders in a timely manner.
  • Continuously monitors all Lake of the Torches Resort Casino properties with an emphasis on money handling and table game areas.
  • Records and submits surveillance observation, special observation, incident and accident reports occurring during the shift for review and action by the surveillance supervisor or surveillance manager.
  • Provides surveillance manager, security officer, chief executive officer, gaming commission, tribal council or law enforcement agencies with documentary evidence of potential gaming crimes protected.
  • Is responsible for providing depositions or courtroom testimony when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position relationships include frequent contact with security and facility administration and occasional contact with law enforcement agencies. Supervision is received from the Surveillance Supervisor or Surveillance Manager on a daily basis.

Education: A High School education or equivalent is required. Experience: A minimum of two years prior experience working in a gaming environment is required. Prior experience in a surveillance or security position is desirable.

Skills and requirements include excellent interpersonal and communication skills, familiarity with PC's and the ability to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact.

Working environment includes performing responsibilities within a restricted office environment and in low light conditions. Exposure to hazards may include spills, wet floors or guest behaviors. Physical requirements include the ability to walk, sit, stand, bend or lift for extended periods of time.
