The Surveys and Observational Studies practice is focused on collaborating with clients in the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology/ medical device industries to design and execute robust, methodologically sound RWE studies to inform clinical development plans, as well as demonstrate and support the value and safety of their marketed products. This team is part of the Patient Centered Outcomes Research group which includes Patient-Centered Outcomes Assessment, Health Preference Assessment, Real World Data and Analytics, and Implementation Science.

We are currently seeking a Health Outcomes Researcher to support the execution of real-world evidence (RWE) and observational research studies, including prospective and retrospective studies, surveys, registries, and analyses using real-world data sources. This individual will work closely with senior project leaders and scientific staff to contribute to day-to-day study operations, helping to track timelines, deliverables, and budgets, and supporting the successful execution of projects in alignment with scientific, regulatory, and quality standards.

What You'll Do

Project Management & Execution

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of RWE and observational research studies across therapeutic areas
  • Contribute to maintaining project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using established project management tools and processes
  • Monitor scope, schedule, and budget; identify risks and dependencies and communicate potential mitigation approaches
  • Escalate issues as needed and collaborate with senior team members to support resolution

Study Operations & Documentation

  • Develop, review, and maintain study documentation, including protocols, data collection instruments, analysis plans, and progress reports
  • Ensure adherence to study protocols, data quality standards, and regulatory, client, and internal requirements
  • Support real-world data collection activities, including surveys, chart reviews, registries, and other primary data sources

Cross-Functional & Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams (e.g., data management, biostatistics, quality, finance) to support timely and high-quality project execution
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors (e.g., data providers, survey vendors, clinical sites) to ensure deliverables are met
  • Track vendor activities and deliverables, flagging any risks or delays

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support client communications, including preparation of materials, status updates, and contributions to presentations
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to ongoing relationship management efforts
  • Assist in proposal development and business development activities in collaboration with senior staff

Scientific Contribution & Dissemination

  • Contribute to the development of study reports, manuscripts, abstracts, and other dissemination materials
  • Support data interpretation and the development of evidence narratives under guidance from senior researchers

Innovation & Growth

  • Contribute to the execution of low-interventional and digitally enabled studies, including those leveraging AI-informed methodologies and novel data capture approaches
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and support team initiatives to build capability in emerging methods and tools
What You'll Need
  • PhD in public health, epidemiology, health sciences, biostatistics, social sciences, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading realworld evidence, observational research, outcomes research, or related health research studies

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of observational study designs, realworld data sources, and applied research methods
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple studies in a deadlinedriven environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problemsolving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience supporting clientfacing deliverables
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with project tracking tools and research databases is a plus
  • Ability and interest in growing into a full project leadership role over time

Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States.
