Job description

The Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) directs the worldwide overseas building program for the Department of State. Working with other offices and bureaus, foreign affairs agencies, and Congress, OBO's challenge is to set worldwide priorities for the design, construction, acquisition, maintenance, use, and sale of real properties and the use of sales proceeds.
OBO requires additional services to manage public and media information regarding OBO. These individuals will work in the Office of External Affairs (OBO/EA).
EA serves as OBO's congressional and press liaison for legislative, press, and industry affairs. EA coordinates with other OBO offices on matters relating to Congress, state legislative bodies, industry, and other U.S. government agencies, media, press, and the public.
The effort that will be supported by this task order includes managing the industry relations portfolio to ensure that any
  • Planning, organizing, analyzing all social media platforms.
  • Monitoring and analyzing online conversations and sentiment at a national or global level and making strategic adjustments to the organization's digital presence accordingly.
  • Manages Capability Conversations within Industry portfolio.
  • Supports Director, Deputy Director, Public Affairs Specialists, and Industry Engagement Advisor with event production logistics, administrative tasks, scheduling meetings, technical support, and travel.
  • Drafts and submits Broadcasts and Department notices.
  • Triages public and internal clearances.
  • Triages EA email.

Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, as well as skills in analysis and interpersonal relations.
  • Experience managing social media for the public sector.
  • Experience with public-private partnerships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Webex, Zoom for Government, and other tech support.
  • Hyper-organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
  • Comfortable interfacing with senior leadership
  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of experience or master's degree in Communications, Public Administration
  • Must have an Active Security Clearance
